Day 1, She has already learned to accept the grey cat, Cody, and gives him kisses. She is sleeping on the couch right next to me right now, seems pretty content and comfortable here so far.

Day 2 was harder. Bubba was having a hard time with Jealousy and with sharing, and Tessa still wasn't ready to play yet, and her instinct to go after the cats is kicking in.

Day 3, Woohooo! Finally a breakthru. Tessa is feeling better and is now initiating play. They are spending a lot of time outside running around and wrestling. Bubba is learning about sharing, and Tessa is learning about being friendly toward the cats.

Day 4, These dogs are in love, they are really enjoying each other. We took Tessa on her first walk in the park with Bubba, and they were absolute angels. I think Bubba really enjoyed having a friend along. Although they are enjoying each othes company, they are both very much people dogs. They have to have their time with us too. Tessa just can't snuggle close enough. You were right, she is quite a watch dog. Tessa had no problem with the sleeping arrangements, she jumps right into bed along with Bubba, and snuggles right up against me. They are both sleeping right now, one on each couch. She is getting a lot of rest, I remember Bubba doing the same when we first got him.

It looks like everthing is going to work out with Tessa.

Sweet Face

Moonshine is a registered American Bulldog who was dumped by her family, along with her daughter Sunlight. Moonshine looks like a Pit Bull and therefore suffers the same injustices. She is also a powerful dog who requires responsible ownership. Unlike Pit Bulls however, ABs often make good guard dogs and may need time to warm up to strangers. This needs to be taken in consideration if you are interested to adopt Moonshine. She will bond very strongly with her family and dedicate her life protecting and cherishing her loved ones.

We were told that Moonshine used to be a family pet, raised in the house with kids and other dogs. Then one day she was given away to some people who didn't want her inside the house. This indoor pet suddenly had to learn how to live outside and neglected in someone's yard. :-( Moonshine was covered in fleas when she came to us and not in very good shape. We promised to turn her life around and show her that not all humans are so uncaring.

Her previous owners gave us her papers and we have a 6 generation pedigree for this sweetie. She has been spayed, vaccinated, treated for a flea infestation and allergy and is now recuperating at the boarding facility. We can tell she enjoys the comfy blankets and warm building very much and this is much better than what she just left behind. However, this is not home and we know Moonshine misses having a family very much. We hope someone will soon give her what she longs for.
